Administration
Mr. Nick Roman, Principal
Greetings Rocky Run Families and Website Visitors!
My name is Nick Roman, and I am honored to serve as the principal here at Rocky Run Elementary. I began my career in education as a 3rd-grade teacher at Stafford Elementary. I then had the opportunity to move to the newly opened Kate Waller Barrett Elementary where I continued to teach 3rd grade. In 2006 I transitioned to Ferry Farm Elementary as Assistant Principal until coming to Rocky Run as Principal in 2013.
We are Rocky Run Elementary...where Positive Attitudes Will Succeed and where EVERYBODY fits! Our mission here is rooted in the idea of taking care of the “whole child.” Engaging in the learning process is an everyday focus for both students and staff. We recognize the value that EACH person brings to our school community, and it is our belief that building each other’s potential is accomplished by celebrating success, embracing challenges, and taking risks. This is all a part of our DREAM as we build people!
Originally from an hour north of Pittsburgh (go “Black n Gold!”), I completed my undergraduate degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My wife, Melissa, and I relocated to Fredericksburg to begin our teaching careers in Stafford County in 2001 when I later completed my graduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University (go “Rams!”). We never knew how quickly this area would feel like home to us! We are the proud parents of two amazing daughters, both of whom attend Stafford Schools. Our commitment and dedication to SCPS continues as educators, parents, and residents of Stafford County.
Thank you for letting me share a little bit about myself and about our incredible school. We invite you to be an engaged stakeholder by attending our events, volunteering in classrooms and school activities, and/or supporting our mission by spreading good cheer about our school. Remember to like Rocky Run Elementary School on FaceBook and follow us on Twitter @RockyEunES!
See you around campus!
Respectfully,
Nick Roman

Mrs. Allie Ward, Assistant Principal
Dear Rocky Run Bulldog families,
My name is Allie Ward and it is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Assistant Principal of Rocky Run Elementary School. I am honored to be in this position, and I am looking forward to working together to make this a great school year!
I would like to share a little bit about myself. I grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and attended Kutztown University where I received my bachelors in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (N-12). I moved to Stafford County in 2011, freshly out of college, and began my career in education as a special education teacher of students with autism at Dixon-Smith Middle School. In 2018 I attended George Mason University and received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. My husband and I have a 7-year old daughter (and another child on the way) and a German Shepherd named Balto. I am an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and during my spare time I enjoy reading, exploring new places, and exercising.
It is my mission to ensure that all students and families feel connected to the school community. I will work to help every student achieve academic, behavioral, and social emotional growth and success. I believe in the potential of each student, and realize we are not just preparing them for the next grade, but for the future. This preparation will include experiences that are challenging, relevant, and meet the needs of the individual student. I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you in person and I look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren). If throughout the course of the year you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact via email or phone.
We are going to have an amazing year!
Sincerely,
Allie Ward
